A UV lamp helps keep your pond clear and free of algae. The UV-c light from the lamp helps combat algae in your pond. You use the lamp in your filter, UV-c device or pond pump with UV lamp. Replace the UV lamp for your pond after 8,000 burning hours or one season. The UV lamp is used in your UV-c device, pressure filter or pond pump with filter.

We recommend using a UV lamp in your pond when you frequently experience fluctuations in parameters or suspended algae. The most important thing is that your basic pond filter works sufficiently; a UV-C device then helps to make your pond water crystal clear.

How often should you replace the UV lamp in your pond?

The UV lamp in your UV-C device has a lifespan of approximately 8,000 operating hours. This means that if it is used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it will last approximately 11 months. We therefore recommend replacing your UV lamp every season for optimal performance. The best time to do this is at the beginning of the pond season in March. You can extend the lifespan of your UV lamp by switching it off when it is not needed.
